The
BUILDING & HISTORY
1120 South Sixth was originally the home of a Convent and orphanage run by the Sisters of the Sacred Heart on property donated by John Mullanphy, an early millionaire in St. Louis. The John Weisert Tobacco Company bought the leasehold interest from the Sisters in 1895.
Built at the turn of the century, The five storey John Weisert Tobacco Company building consists of the heavy timbered North Building, and the concrete mushroom columned South Building.

Ryckman Leasing/Act Number Two, LLC bought the property in 2003 and began a three phase historic renovation project. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.
